Though it may take some time before the vaccine becomes available to all, it is important to start thinking about your choice and how to prepare. If you are choosing to vaccinate, it is important to set your body up for successful outcomes.
A healthy immune system can better respond to a vaccine to 1. Increase its effectiveness and 2. Better protect your body from any potential adverse reactions.
Simple steps to support a healthy immune system for vaccination.
•Avoid drinking alcohol right before or after getting the vaccine. Alcohol is an immunosuppressant and there is scientific research that shows it can potentially render the vaccine ineffective.Some experts advise to wait 3 days after vaccination. Alcohol also adversely affects our detox organs. Healthy detox pathways are crucial to help our bodies properly detox the adjuvants and other constituents within vaccines.
•Avoid high sugar consumption. Sugar (empty carbohydrates) can deplete our mineral stores- needed for healthy immune and body function.
•Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated- Proper hydration is important for healthy blood and lymph circulation- how our immune cells travel throughout the body.
•Sleep! Make good sleep a priority and address sleep issues - aim for around 8 hours or if possible turn off your alarm and let your body wake up naturally.
•Make sure you are getting adequate vitamin d in your diet ( fatty fish, mushrooms, eggs, sunshine)
•Eat a well rounded diet of nutrient dense foods to support your immune system and body with the nutrients it needs
Aside from the vaccine.. These steps will also support your #immune system in fighting off the virus if you come in contact as well as helping your body to heal from the virus. A healthy immune system can better protect your body from the various threats it inevitably comes into contact to throughout your day to day life.
